What it trains
Trunk strength, grip, single-side stability.
Why it's useful
Trains the pattern of carrying shopping or a suitcase without leaning.
Setup
- Hold one dumbbell or kettlebell in one hand.
- Stand tall, resist tipping to that side.
- Walk for a set distance or time, then swap sides.
Three coaching cues
- Shoulders level
- Ribs stacked over pelvis
- Steady steps
Common mistakes
- Leaning sideways
- Shrugging the loaded shoulder
- Twisting the trunk
